December 2019 – creating bridal makeup looks fit for a front cover at MOSI, Manchester.
Manchester is the city I have spent most of my life and is a city that I love for its diversity, colour and strength of character.
Amongst the modern gleaming towers of glass that are currently being built faster than you can say ‘construction’ there are what I believe to be the gems of the city. The red brick warehouses on which Manchester built its growth in the Industrial Revolution. Construction companies nowadays certainly don’t build like they did in the early 1900s.
My love for these red brick beauties has existed for as long as I can remember. Buildings steeped in history which are a joy to look at. So when I was offered the opportunity to work on a shoot taking place in one of the warehouses that makes up the MOSI estate I of course jumped at the chance. The fact that the shoot was for Bond Bride Magazine was the cherry on the top.
Kate of FLORENCE AND VERA EVENTS put together an amazing group of suppliers to create a shoot worthy of any front cover. If I am honest, when I saw the images I shed a tear of happiness as they were simply the most beautiful images from a shoot that I have seen.
Despite the typical darkness you might expect from a warehouse, Kate created images of light and beauty that I believe would be quite comfortable on the cover of Vogue. The woman is an absolute genius and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her on this shoot.
